I would like to enquire about applying for a single entry tourist visa for China. I'm planning on visiting China from 15/10/14 for 3 weeks. I am a permanent resident in Australia and I am currently in Europe and won't be home until next year.

Dear Sir/Madam,

According to Chongqing Municipal City's official website (link below), it is per October 2013 possible for a list of nationalities to enter Chongqing airport on a 72 hours free transit visa, issued upon arrival.
The website states: "On October 16th, the state council officially approved to carry out 72-hour transit visa exemption policy at Chongqing airport."
