A Brief Introduction to Chinese VisaChinese visa is a permit issued to a foreigner by the Chinese visa authorities for entry into, exit from or transit through the Chinese territory. The Chinese visa authorities may issue a Diplomatic, Courtesy, Service or Ordinary Visa to a foreigner according to his identity, purpose of visit to China and passport type. The Ordinary Visa consists of eight sub-categories, which are respectively marked with Chinese phonetic letters F, L, X, C, J-1, J-2, G, and D.
F Visa: Issued to an applicant who is invited to China for visit, research, lecture, business, scientific-technological and culture exchanges or short-term advanced studies or intern practice for a period of no more than six months.
L Visa: Issued to an applicant who comes to China for tourist purposes, family visiting or other personal affairs.
Z Visa: Issued to an applicant who is to take up a post or employment in China, and their accompanying family members.
X Visa: Issued to an applicant who comes to China for the purpose of study, advanced studies or intern practice for a period of six months or above.
C Visa: Issued to crewmembers on international aviation, navigation and land transportation missions and family members accompanying them.
J-1 Visa: Issued to foreign resident correspondents in China.
J-2 Visa: Issued to foreign correspondents on temporary interview mission in China.
G Visa: Issued to those who transit through China.
D Visa: Issued to applicant who is to reside permanently in China.
The Chinese visa authorities overseas include Chinese embassies, consulates, visa offices, and the consular department of the office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. If a foreigner intends to enter into, exit from or transit through the Chinese territory, he shall apply to the above-mentioned Chinese visa authorities for a Chinese visa. Instruction on LegalizationThe consular office of the Chinese Embassy in Israel is delighted to do legalization for Israeli citizens, Chinese citizens and citizens from other countries. The legalization has two categories: civil affairs and commercial affairs. Civil affairs are like adoption, marriage, power of attorney, birth or death, status, kinship etc. Commercial affairs include business license, labor agreement, inheritance, property transfer etc. The procedures of authentication application are as follows:
Documents to be Submitted:
1. Applicant's passport (which should be valid for at least six months and has blank visa pages).
2. An application form which is clearly filled out and with a photo taken recently glued on the upper right corner of the form.
3. Invitation letters or other relevant documents.
Procedures:
1. A visa application form should be filled out. The application form can be obtained by downloading from this website or from the consular office.
2. Applicants can come to apply for a visa personally or entrust someone else to do it. But the application form should be filled out by the applicant.
3. After submitting the passport and the application form, the applicant will be given a pink colored pickup note in which the amount of the visa fees to be charged and the date of the visa to be picked up are notified.
4. Normally, the visa will be ready on the fourth working day after the application is accepted.
5. Those who want to get their visa ready at the same day should submit the visa application to the consular office before 11:30 am
during working days.
Pickup Date and Time:
1. The time for visa pickup is from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm during working days.
2. The duration of visa processing will be according to the application form filled by the applicant.
3. If "Today" (top urgent process) in the application form is selected, the applicant can pick up the visa at the same day the documents submitted. However, the relevant documents should be summitted before 11:00 AM.
If "After 1 working day" (urgent process) is selected, the applicant can pick up the visa at the second or the third working day the documents submitted.
If "After 4 working days" (regular process) is selected, the applicant can come to pick up visa on the fourth working day the documents submitted.
Please be noted that the visa fees differ in accordance with the pickup date.
Types of Visa Issued:
According to the purpose of an applicant's visit, the main types of visa issued are tourism (L), business (F), study (X), working (Z) and journalist (J) visas.
Number of Entries:
1. One entry and two entries visa means that the applicant can go to China once or twice within a validity period of three months which starts on the date the applicant submits his or her application.
2. Multiple entries visa means that the applicant can enter China more than twice in the validity period of six months or one year.
3. Multiple entries visa is only issued to those who have been to China more than once or twice in the past year. Be sure that you fill the application form correctly.
Notes:
1. The application for a visa may be declined if the applicant fails to provide with true and complete information in the application form. The applicant shall bear all the consequences arising therefrom.
2. The person holding X, Z, D or J-1 visa shall go through residential formalities in the local public security department in China within thirty days since the date of entry.
3. Without approval of the relevant Chinese authorities, employment in the territory of China is prohibited.
Visa to Hong Kong SAR:
Israeli citizens may visit Hong Kong for up to 90 days without a visa, but a visa is required for those to work, study, establish or join in any business or take up residence. Visa to Macao SAR:
Israeli citizens may visit Macao for up to 90 days without a visa. Citizens from other counties may apply for the visa when they enter Macao. Please visit the Identification Department of Macao website: http://www.dsi.gov.mo for details.
