Types of China visas and related basic requirements1. Business/Official visit visas (F Visa)
An official invitation from related Chinese government departments or companies/organizations authorized by Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue visa or Trade Fair Invitation is required.
Based on the official invitation with a company certificate, bank statement, commercial documents (such as invoice, bill of lading) in duplicate, one original and one photocopy, you can apply for a single, or a double entry visa.
2. Tourists/family visit visa (L Visa)
Based on various situations, the applicants are required to present a tourist visa invitation from a Chinese tour agency or an invitation letter from relatives, a return airline ticket and bank statement.
3. Student Visa (X Visa)
Along with the visa application, you must provide an approved JW201 or JW202 (Foreign Student Visa Application Form) issued by the State Education Ministry of China, and an Admission Notice and a Physical Examination Record from the admitting university.
4. Employment / Work Visa (Z Visa)
In addition to the application form, the employment certificate and visa notice with seal and code from authorized organization should be provided.
Note: For foreigners staying in China longer than one year, you must also submit a health certificate.
5. Transit Visa (G Visa)
A valid visa to the country of destination or an invitation of the visiting country, and an airline ticket/travel itinerary showing transit through China is required.
6. Diplomatic/Official Visa
Officials of foreign governments or members of a diplomatic or consular mission, members of the United Nations, or an international organization, who will visit China on official business or are dispatched to a mission in China, must submit an official note from their government or their employing organizations along with their applications.
Chinese Visa Application ProceduresThe applicant should:
1. Prepare his/her passport with a valid period of no less than 6 months and at least a blank visa page;
2. Fill in one Chinese Visa Application Form with one recent passport size photograph (black and white or colour). If the application form is not completely filled out, or it is not legible, this can cause procedure delay or the visa to be denied;
3. Present required documents;
4. Be interviewed in person by the consular officer. Person suffering from mental disorder, leprosy, AIDS, venereal diseases, contagious tuberculosis or other diseases shall not be allowed to enter China.
Notes:
1. The Chinese Embassy has the authority to request the visa applicants to provide any document relating to visa application. The application for a visa may be declined if the applicant fails to provide with true and complete document.
2. The Validity of the Visa, Duration of Stay, and Number of Entries, are issued at the discretion of consular officer, whose decisions are based strictly on the laws and regulations of the Chinese Government.
3. The consular officers are entitled to change and /or revoke issued visas. The consular officer reserves the right to refuse any application inconsistent with Chinese laws and regulations, and withhold disclosure of the reason.
4. The submitted application documents shall not be withdrawn if the application is declined.
